Troubleshooting Spoken English Learned Quickly download problems.

    We know that all our audio (.wma and .mp3) and text (.htm, .html, and .pdf) files are successfully downloaded in all parts of the world because we can monitor downloading by country, and by the type of audio or text file being downloaded. (However, we cannot identify individual users.)

    Therefore, we know that a download problem is always caused by either the local server (the service providing the digital signals to a computer) or with the computer's browser (the program in the computer itself which reads the digital signals it is receiving).

    We purposely designed our Spoken English Learned Quickly website so that it is compatible with the earliest website technology. This helps most people around the world, but not everyone. So we have a second solution which will help almost everyone else.

    But first, let's see if we can solve your computer's problem.

• The lesson pages open, but the AB or files will not download.

  1. If you can read this page, you know that the lesson pages open on your computer.

  2. Try opening a .pdf link AB or .

  3. If the .pdf link will not open, download a current version of the free Acrobat PDF Reader.

  4. If the .pdf document still does not download, your local server or the browser in your computer is incompatable.

     • If other computers in your area using the same server can download the .pdf documents, the problem is in your computer's browser. You may be able to find a free upgrade for your browser on the internet.

     • If other computers in your area cannot download the .pdf cocuments, the problem may be in the server.

  5. If you are using a CD that was copied from the www.FreeEnglishNow.com website, the linked documents (.htm and .pdf) must all be in the same folder.

    If you still cannot open the .pdf files, there is another way you can load the pages to your computer. (In fact, you may be able to preserve the links so that the audio files still open.)

• Create new pages on your own computer.

  1. For each page you want to copy, open a new word document.

  2. Open the lesson page you want to copy (for example, Lesson 1).

  3. Click and drag your mouse over the entire page so that all links and text are highlighted.

  4. Paste the copied text into your word document page and save.

  5. The links on the new page should work if the all of the pages are in the same folder and all text and audio files have the correct link address. You can also print the new word document pages.
