Project: New Permanent Exhibition (20,000 s.f.)

Client: The Health Museum of Cleveland

Role: Exhibit Developer

Challenge: Engage visitors in science & health

Beyond research, concept development, and writing, my work on the new Health Museum extended to finding a photograph of Albert Einstein's brain, purchasing body parts for display, finding long-lasting "scent beads" for smell tubes, and presenting a full-size mockup of an exhibit about sex to a roomful of clergy.

The entire exhibition was intended to concentrate on helping visitors to learn about making healthy choices. The National Science Foundation also funded a series of exhibits about body systems. I worked on every aspect of these exhibits, from initial research, formative evaluations of many mockups, and even painting the marrow into a model cross-section of bone.

Below are photographs of 25x life-size interactive models of human sense organs. I worked on the interactive elements and coordinated with the medical illustrators and sculptors to find the right balance of detail and clarity.
